Hyundai, Kia make engine rental for truck

Hyundai and Kia have teamed up to provide truck owners with a means to rent their own engine, the engine hoist.

The Hoist Renting program was announced this morning by the two brands in a press release.

It will be available in Texas, Georgia and Louisiana and will be accessible to all vehicles in Texas.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Hyundai and are thrilled to bring this exciting opportunity to the growing truck rental market,” said Jay Nardini, President of Hyundai North America.

“As an industry leader, we’re committed to ensuring that truck owners have access to the best engine rental service available, and our partners are leading the way with their innovative engines.”

Hyundai will rent up to one of its engines and will provide a fully functional engine hoisting trailer, as well as a one-year warranty on all the engines.

The truck rental program will be priced at $499.99 per month with a $50 fee per engine, which includes a two-year, full engine lease and a $25 fee per vehicle.

Kia will rent one engine for $379.99 with a two year, full-price engine lease, and a two month warranty.

The service will be offered for vehicles with a total of 12,000 miles on the odometer, a vehicle’s base mileage of 55,000 or greater, and an annualized gross vehicle weight rating of 15,000 pounds or greater.

It is available in both Texas and Louisiana.
