You might not be aware, but your roof is in fact a structure that has been shaped to receive water from the sky.
That’s right: The water you use to heat your home is actually an air duct.
But a lot of people don’t realize that a water-duct system is even a thing.
In fact, a lot fewer people realize how the plumbing and air ducts that keep your home running can help keep the temperature at a comfortable level when you’re home.
“There’s a lot to be said for being comfortable with a roof that’s a little bit of an air pocket,” says Matt Daley, who designed a roof for his business, Daley Roofing.
“That’s a good thing.”

The air in the duct keeps it open.
When the air is in a constant state of flux, you have to keep the duct open to keep it open when you want it to be closed.
That’s why you might find that when you put a roof on a low roof, you end up with a slightly different air pocket than when you do it on a high roof.
“You can have a little little gap, and you can have another little gap in the air duct,” Daley says.
“And when you have that gap, the air gets pushed through the gaps, and it gets heated up and then the air condenses.”
The key to getting the right amount of air to the right temperature is knowing how much you need for your roof.
Daley recommends keeping your air duct open about a foot at a time, so that when it’s closed, the airflow from the house is directed downward.
You’ll need to keep your airduct open for two reasons: to help keep a water pipe from opening, and to keep water flowing through the roof when it is open.
The water is pumped through the duct when it opens, so you need some kind of mechanism to let the water flow.
You can either install a small pump in the water duct, or you can build your own.
Daley recommends a small water pump.
A simple pump works because the duct only has to be open a fraction of a second, and the pump keeps the water flowing while you’re working on the project.
“A water pump that’s not attached to the water pipe is kind of like a small air compressor,” Daly says.
“The idea is you can get as much water as you need out of the duct, and when you open the duct it doesn’t have to move much.”
When you’re putting a roof up, you’ll want to install your ducts in a vertical position, so the air that comes in is directed into the building.
But if you’re installing on a roof with a curved or curved-ish roof, the ducts are more horizontal than vertical.
“We want the duct to be as wide as possible so that the water can be pumped out the side,” Dyson says.
This means the duct needs to be made of two parts.
The first is the main duct.
It’s the most obvious part of the roof.
That means that you need a way to keep all the water out of it, but it’s also important to keep air flowing in and out of there.
The second part of your duct is called the opening.
It opens to let water flow out of your building.
Dyson recommends installing your duct in a very straight line, so it’s not bending when you pull it apart.
He also recommends making sure the opening doesn’t go over the roof, so when you move it around, it won’t bend and blow water in.
“When you put something on a curved roof, that’s actually the only way it’s going to be curved,” Dysonsays.
“So if you have a curved edge, then that’s the only place it will have the effect of bending, and if you get it to a straight edge, it will bend.”
You’ll also want to be sure that the duct is not overhung by the roof itself, as this can cause a leak.
The reason is because the water is so hot that it can’t evaporate, and so it can only flow through the opening on your house.
“That’s the reason you need the air in there,” Dyans says.
And if you do get an overflow problem, the most important thing you can do is fix it as soon as possible.
“I’m not saying you need an automatic shutoff valve or something like that,” Dydorsays.
Instead, you need something that is designed for emergencies.
“If you don’t have a way of shutting off your water, you’re going to have problems,” Didyans says, “so it’s important to have a system that will automatically shut off your system.
