A key aspect of this strategy is that it will build on the £4.4 billion of investment made in the UK computer and software sector between 2015 and 2020, and will support more than 1,000 high-tech companies to bring their own innovative technologies to market.


It is hoped the UK will also see an increase in the number of high-skill jobs in the tech sector.

The strategy states: The number one priority for the UK Government is to retain its position as the world’s leading software and computing power provider.

The Government will focus on developing a strategy that will enable the UK to deliver on the promise it has made in delivering the Digital Transformation Strategy.

The Strategy also includes a focus on fostering the next wave of innovation and entrepreneurship in the industry, in order to enable companies to grow and grow at the pace they need to.

A number of major technology companies have already announced plans to expand their IT workforce in the coming years.

The sector employs more than 8 million people globally and is a key driver of growth for the economy.


It includes the UK’s Digital Innovation Agency (DIA), which aims to foster innovation, create jobs and provide access to talent, as well as the National Institute for Business Innovation and Skills (NIBITS), a government-funded body that develops technology-focused policy.
